Eat Like a Local – Bywater Food & Art Tour
Description
The Bywater is a neighborhood in New Orleans that has seen a revitalization post-Katrina. The arts and the food and bar scene are the main draws to this bohemian neighborhood that thrives on the soul of our culture. In addition to enjoying three food stops, you’ll see cool street art, learn the roots of voodoo and see the site that launched the historic case of Homer v. Plessy.
Start with Cajun history told through sausage in flavors like an alligator, crawfish, duck, or delicious pork varieties (tasty house-made veggie/vegan options available!). Taste the Haitian influence on New Orleans in a historic food hall, enjoy a German-New Orleans fusion sandwich on the Mississippi River (a nod to this neighborhood’s history) – bonus stop: finish with a secret popsicle pop-up beloved by locals (seasonally dependent). This tour offers a unique look into Creole and Cajun classics and the new, innovative direction of our local cuisine. (There is also local BBQ, a po-boy place, and a courtyard microbrewery in the neighborhood if preferred to any of the above.)
All curated food, cocktails/beer, taxes & tips are included in your ticket so you can sit back and relax! Will accommodate allergies/dietary restrictions if told in advance. The menu above & food stops are subject to availability.
