Twilight Tour

Join us this weekend at twilight for a chilling history tour- just for tweens. This kid friendly haunted tour is not for the faint at heart. On this tour, we’ll dig deeper than the Spooky Tour to share the details of some of the more unsettling events that happened in 19th century New Orleans and the restless spirits still lingering today. Kids will learn about Yellow Fever and miasma, as well as the bizarre mourning rituals common to Creole widows living in the Victorian era. Tweens will learn about the different types of ghosts left behind, the echos of people dashing down our narrow streets or lurking in the shadows. But tweens won’t just learn about ghosts- they’ll communicate with them.

Kids will also learn about the practice of voodoo, the voodoo priestess Marie Laveau, the ceremonies in Congo Square, and the charms and spells practiced. We’ll share primary sources and first hand accounts written in the 1800s, leaving kids with a curiosity to learn more about this mysterious religion still practiced today.

And of course the Rougarou. For kids visiting the swamp which is southern Louisiana, we will warn them of which creatures to avoid!!

As with all of our tours, this a teacher led, thoroughly researched tour of our past. While we can’t guarantee the ghosts will communicate back with us on tour, we do guarantee kids will leave the tour with a better understanding of ghosts, mythical creatures, and the timeless techniques used for interacting with the spirit world.

(The Twilight Tour excludes all graphic, inappropriate content found on adult haunted tours. New Orleans offers an abundance of excellent ghost tours for adults. These tours are also perfect for older teens. However, the Twilight Tour is a version of the same history but tailored to upper elementary & middle school kids. DEPARTURE/RETURN LOCATION	We do not have a brick and mortar building or shop. Our tours begin at different historic sites in the French Quarter. Upon booking, you will receive an email with the meeting location as well as a link to the location on Google maps. In addition, our guides will contact you 30 minutes before the tour to confirm. Our Twilight Tour begins at the Old Ursulines Convent The Twilight Tour ends within blocks of Jackson Square though the exact location varies.
DEPARTURE TIME	Please arrive promptly 15-30 minutes before your adventure.
WHAT TO BRING	Dress comfortably for this spooky tour. Bring your camera.
WHATS INCLUDED	As with all of our tours, this a teacher led, thoroughly researched tour of our past. CANCELLATION POLICY	If you need to cancel your reservation, we will issue a full refund if canceled at least 24 hours before the tour’s starting time. Because we’re a tiny business, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible. Tours do not run if there is thunder / lightning, flood watches, or heat advisories. While we don’t necessarily mind those things, children, antiques, and ghost hunting equipment don’t fare as well in such conditions. We’ll try to adjust the start time or reschedule whenever possible. If that is not possible, we will cancel and refund the reservation. If it starts pouring while touring, we will leave it up to you whether you wish to continue the tour or stop and dry off. If you opt to stop the tour, we will refund your tickets. Because of the nature of our tours, we do require at least 2 children attend the tour. If you are booking with one child, understand the tour is conditional. We’ll let you know 12 – 24 hours in advance if your booking is at risk of not happening. In that case, we’ll offer you options to reschedule. If that is not possible, we’ll issue a full refund.
